The devil is often in the details – or in this case, in the rubrics. When it comes to validity of assessments, the design and implementation of our rubrics is key. In this session, we’ll look at best practices to design and use rubrics that improve validity and best support learners.
Presenters
Michele Bridge is an Instructional Development Consultant and the Faculty Development Coordinator in the LTC. She is passionate about teaching and learning and has a particular interest in assessment and building educator competencies through professional development.
Simon Heslup is an Instructional Development Consultant at BCIT’s Learning and Teaching Centre. His professional interests include educational technology and assessment. In his nearly 20 years teaching and/or supporting faculty development at tertiary education institutions, he has developed a lot of rubrics.
