Food for Thought: Who Were the Luddites? Technology, Power, and Labour: Lessons from the Past In-Person / Online

A casually misunderstood group in contemporary discourse, the Luddites understood with remarkable clarity the social role of technological change: that some would find benefits, others calamity. This presentation
provides a brief overview of the Luddite uprisings and explores how their historical context and core insights remain relevant today.

Presenter: Matt Greaves (PhD) is the Member Engagement Officer with the BCITFSA. In a past life, he researched and taught labour history.
